(02)What to Expect

What a Teens BJJ class actually looks like.

Every class runs the same shape, so your teen always knows what's happening and never feels out of their depth. A light warm-up to get moving, a technique of the day broken down step by step, focused drilling with a partner, then situational sparring and live rolling where they put it all together against a training partner.

Teens are paired with a friendly partner and a coach walks the room the whole time. There's no throwing anyone to the wolves on day one, and the intensity always matches where each teen is at.

(03)Is It For Me

Is this the right environment for a teenager?

Yes. Teens BJJ is a positive, screen-free room where teenagers put down the phone and work on something real. It builds confidence and discipline, gives them a supportive peer group who train alongside them week after week, and offers a healthy outlet plus genuine fitness at an age when both matter.

Beginners are genuinely welcome. Most teens who walk in have never trained before, and nobody expects them to know anything on day one. They set their own pace and build from there, surrounded by coaches and teammates who want them to do well.

(04)The Curriculum

What you'll learn.

Teens BJJ is the bridge between our youth classes and adult training. Teens work the full curriculum, and the format is the same every session, so the learning compounds week over week.

  • The full curriculum with situational sparring and live rolling
  • Real fitness and the resilience that comes with it
  • Optional competition prep for teens who want to test themselves
  • Positional control and escapes, so they're never stuck
  • The same format every class: warm-up, technique, drilling, sparring

(06)Your First Class

What to bring on day one.

Just athletic clothes, a t-shirt and shorts or leggings, plus a water bottle and a pair of flip-flops for walking off the mats. We provide a loaner gi for the free class, so there's nothing to buy before starting. Come with clean feet and cut nails, and get to the mats a few minutes early so a coach can say hi.
